Fragment - Ellie Wade

I have read some awesome books since the start of 2014 but I have to say without a doubt that Fragment has topped the list. When I first read the blurb, I thought to myself ‘This sounds like a book worth reading’. Oh, I was so right! I enjoyed every moment of this book. On completion the only words that came to mind were OMG! What an amazing read. Fragment is a story of love, hope, forgiveness and learning to let go of the past ,so that one will be able to grasp their future. This is a story that will stay with you for days. It will put your emotions into overdrive and leave you wanting more. Fragment tells the story of Campbell Stevens an ambitious eighteen year old who recently graduated from high school. She had her life mapped out and she was going places. However a tragic incident during spring break would change her perspective on life and in the process derail her plans. Five years later we see Campbell filled with bitterness and scared of losing control over life. She is not looking for a long term relationship and any relationship she gets involved with is on her own terms. Then came Deacon Montgomery a hot firefighter who is drawn to Campbell the first time he laid eyes on her. Campbell, although attracted to him was not interested in getting involved with him. Based on her experience five years ago, she believed that hot guys could not be trusted. Deacon ,however, was not about to let her push him away and he did not stop until he broke down her defenses. He is a sweet, sensitive and caring guy. The type of guy that most women would love to have in their lives. The story was told from the POV of the main characters which held to give insight into how they were both feeling. It was easy to connect with the characters, especially Campbell. I empathized with her as I could feel her pain. I loved the way she overcame the pain of her past to hold on to her future with Deacon. It was great to see Deacon being there for her and not giving up on her even when she did everything to push him away. This is proved that the love of a good person can heal many emotional wounds. If you love stories that will engage your emotions and you are looking for your next awesome read for 2014 then get yourself a copy of Fragment. NB I received a complimentary copy in exchange for a honest review.
